There is something deeply rewarding about preserving the character of our local community. Recently, our team had the privilege of taking on a very special project right in the heart of Duvall: restoring the historic rockery in the parking lot of Adventure Community Church.
Located at the corner of Stella Street and Broadway, this site has been a cornerstone of our community for over a century. Originally built as Holy Innocents Catholic Church back in the early 1910s, the property has undergone decades of changes, transitions, and a resilient rebuild after the devastating 2020 fire.
Through all that history, the classic stone rockery has stood by the parking lot—but years of weathering and shifting earth had left it in need of some serious care.
Honoring the Past, Rebuilding for the Future
When we took on this restoration, our goal wasn't just to fix a retaining wall; it was to honor the historic aesthetic of the property. Rockeries are a staple of Pacific Northwest landscaping, but over time, dirt settles, stones shift, and invasive weeds take root.
We carefully worked through the site to stabilize the structure, reset the heavy stones, and ensure proper drainage so that this piece of local history remains secure for decades to come.
See the Transformation: Past & Present
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and this project is no exception. Take a look at the journey this property has taken!

Freshly completed! Our team completely restored, leveled, and stabilized the heavy stone rockery framing the church parking lot.
A Community Effort
We want to give a huge thank you to Adventure Community Church for trusting us with a piece of their historic grounds. It’s an honor to contribute to a site that means so much to Duvall. Next time you drive past Stella and Broadway, take a look at the refreshed stonework!
